I wanted to have the softness of the waves to compliment her beautiful classic lace wedding dress but I wanted to add big dutch braids for an edgy textured look that would go great with her black leather jacket. I used a BaByliss PRO 1" curling iron to add waves starting at the nape of her neck to her crown. I then added 2 dutch braids on either side going from her hairline down about mid way. I began to pull out her braids to make them appear fuller and add more drama to the style. Then I met the 2 braids in the back and pinned them into place. Using a wide tooth metal hair pick, I loosed the waves by running the comb thru a couple of times. To finish the look off I used sexyhair's smooth & seal shine spray , Kenra 25 finishing spray and sexyhair weather proof humidity spray (because, Vancouver).
Goodbye man bun, Hello man braid
For Gabe’s look I used some Kenra silkening gloss to tame his frizz and add shine, sexyhair voluminzing powder at the roots for volume. I then did a French braid from front to back and gently pulled out some of the hair to really give the look some volume. To secure the braid I twisted the end and inserted the pins vertically, finishing the look off with Kenra 25 finishing spray. PS.....The braid was not planned but after playing around for a bit we all agreed it looked great so we decided to go with it!
I was so happy to be apart of such a great shoot. Looking forward to more of these creative and stylish shoots throughout the year. Thank you to everyone involved for making this rainy day into something magical.
